The reading specialist at Oakdale Elementary focuses on enhancing students' reading skills. The reading specialist is responsible for developing personalized instructional strategies to support all students and ensure significant progress in reading. This role involves working closely with the elementary principal to implement reading programs, oversee reading assessments, and collaborate with teachers and parents to maximize learning outcomes. 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Implement reading programs and assessments for kindergarten through 3rd grade students.
• Collaborate with educators and families to support student learning.
• Utilize data to tailor instructional strategies for diverse learners.
• Complete Strong Readers Act reports.
• Create a positive learning environment conducive to personal growth.

Qualifications

• A background in education, particularly in literacy or reading instruction.
• Reading specialist certification required.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
• Experience with data-driven instructional practices is preferred.
